Economics Creative Competition 2024

To promote the study of Economics and Business, the Economics Teachers’ Association of Western Australia ran an Economics-themed creative competition.

2024 Competition Winners

2024 Competition Guidelines


The creations should be based on the current economic climate in Australia, focusing on economic events from 2022-2024.

Any school teaching the Western Australian Humanities and Social Sciences Curriculum, or the ATAR Economics Course, is invited to submit a total of up to three student-created entries. Entries may be made by hand, created using software or by some combination of these methods.

 Students can submit their creative piece in any of the following formats:

There is a $200 first prize for the best entry for each division.

There are two $50 runner-up prizes for each division.

If the winning entry has been created by a group of students, the prize money will be shared on an equal basis between the group members.

To enter the competition, upload these attachments using the online submission portal below:

  1. A completed parent consent form for each student in the group.
  2. Your competition submission - note that students may work individually or in groups of up to three.

Entries must be received by 4 pm Thursday June 27th 2024.

Schools with a winning entry will be notified by email during Week 5 Term 3, 2024.

Terms and Conditions

  1. The Economics Teachers’ Association of Western Australia reserves the right to use any winning or highly commended entries as it chooses in the aim of further promoting the study of Economics in the senior secondary years.
  2. If all required documents are not submitted, the entry will be deemed invalid.
  3. If there are no suitable entries that meet the criteria in an age division, a winner may not be selected.
